It is truly great to share that Kahoot! continues to achieve significant growth across various geographies and user segments. The Asia-Pacific (APAC) region continues to be one of the group’s key growth drivers, with more than one million teachers using Kahoot! to engage and inspire their students, and over 200 million (non-unique) participants in the past 12 months at school, in corporations and in social settings. These numbers highlight Kahoot!’s position as a key learning tool across the region, driven by our continuous innovation for enhanced engagement and learning experiences.
Investing for continued success
Backed by Goldman Sachs Asset Management, General Atlantic, and Kirbi (the investment arm of the LEGO family), Kahoot! is uniquely positioned to invest further in the APAC region. Our growth so far has been remarkable—especially considering we’ve achieved it without having a dedicated local team on the ground.
We’re very happy to welcome our two latest managers in the region: Ahteram Uddin, VP Commercial for APAC, and Brent Mori as VP Commercial for Japan. Both bring decades of leadership experience in digital media, technology, and commercial strategy in the region.
Ahteram Uddin, based in Singapore, shared his excitement about joining Kahoot!, saying: “APAC is a dynamic and diverse region with boundless opportunities for growth within both education and corporate training. I’m excited to help Kahoot! scale its impact across this diverse region, driving engagement through innovative learning experiences for both teachers, students and professionals.”
Brent Mori echoed this sentiment, particularly for Japan, stating:
“With an accelerated usage growth in Japan over the last year and expanding japanese content collections available, I see a huge potential to bring even more awesome learning to the market.”
And speaking of Japan: last week our partner, The Nobel Peace Center, announced that Nihon Hidankyo, a grassroots Japanese organization of atomic bomb survivors from Hiroshima and Nagasaki, will receive the Nobel Peace Prize 2024 for its efforts to achieve a world free of nuclear weapons. Join me in celebrating Nihon Hidankyo by exploring our latest content about the organization here.
Enhancing Kahoot! for APAC
As part of our strategy to engage more deeply with users in the region, Kahoot! recently localized its platform for the Indonesian market, adding to Japanese, traditional and simplified Chinese and Korean. With more Asian languages to come, we ensure that learners and educators across APAC can access Kahoot! in their native language. These efforts will allow us to continue to provide seamless and interactive learning experiences for millions of users in the region
We are also offering an enriched learning experience with content loved by global – and local – audiences, including exclusive kahoots from our partner, Peanuts. We also have more exciting partnership news to bring you in the weeks and months ahead, so be sure to bookmark our blog or follow us on social media for all the latest.
More to come!
Kahoot! is dedicated to making learning awesome. We continuously enhance our platform to provide deeper and more engaging learning opportunities, leveraging AI and the latest technologies to power up content creation like never before.
