Kahoot! Kids is tailored specifically for young children, typically in the early elementary age range. It is designed to provide a safe and engaging learning environment where kids can play learning apps and quizzes that cover various subjects such as math, reading, and social-emotinal learning.

Asa parent you can set up and manage accounts for your children, track their progress, and control the content they can access with personalized learning paths and playlists. This helps ensure that kids are engaging with age-appropriate material. Your children can play individually or in groups, which can encourage collaboration and healthy competition.

For children aged 8-16:
For older children and students, we recommend using the Kahoot! app which offers engaging learning experiences with multiple games and study modes to make learning at home enjoyable and effective. With Kahoot!+ for young students subscription, they will unlock exclusive reward, access to math games and award-winning learning apps. It supports learning across core subjects and school topics, helping them thrive in school!

With your adult account, you have the ability to create, edit, and delete child profiles linked to your account. This allows you to ensure a safe and age-appropriate experience tailored to each child’s needs.

Get started by downloading the Kahoot! app:

1. 1. After accessing the Kahoot! app, go to the home screen.
   2. Click on your profile picture in the upper left corner.
   3. Select “Add child”.
   4. Provide the child’s age.
   5. Set a nickname.
   6. Select the avatar.

Done!

Then, download the Kahoot! app (for children above 8) or the Kahoot! Kids app (for children below 8) to your child’s device.

You can also create a child profile in the Kahoot! Kids app:

1. In the Kahoot! Kids app, tap on the Parents button in the top left corner.
2. Provide your date of birth to confirm that you’re an adult.
3. Go to the My Kids section.
4. Select the profile.
5. Tap Edit Profile or Delete Profile.

Kahoot! Kids stand-alone app is available on iOS and Android devices.
Go to the app store on your mobile device and search for Kahoot! Kids. Alternatively, tap the link:

Download and launch the app.

Within Kahoot! App:

1. Open the Kahoot! app and login or sign up.
2. Tap on the avatar icon in the top left corner of the screen to open your profile.
3. On the top of the screen, you’ll see the existing profiles. Tap on the Child profile or one of the previously created child profiles to open a child profile’s space in Kahoot! app.
   💡 Here our younger users can create their own kahoots, discover child-friendly ready-made quizzes, and join games.
4. Go to the Home tab.
5. Tab on the icon in the top right corner to open Kahoot! Kids.

Explore fractions in innovative ways. Similar to traditional kahoots, the Kahoot! Duck Duck Fractions is hosted on a big screen and students join with a PIN code. Kahoot! Duck Duck Fractions lets students manipulate fractions to better feel and explore their meaning. The Snoopy Fractions game mode follows the same logic as the Kahoot! Duck-Duck Fractions mode.

Kahoot! Pop-Pop Multiplications
Offers new ways for learners to explore math topics and expand their skills through strategic thinking. Similar to traditional kahoots, Pop-Pop Multiplications allows you to host on a big screen and players can join with a unique PIN code. Kahoot! Pop-Pop Multiplications does not use a quiz system to transfer knowledge but adapts specific and unique interaction-based gameplay on multiplication. You can also play it solo the in Kahoot! App.

Start a live game.
The host’s screen will display available game modes. Click options on the carousel at the bottom of the screen to see short descriptions. Choose the one that best matches the gameplay experience you want to provide your audience.

Classic
Use classic mode if you want every player to play individually.

Team mode
Use team mode if you want players to form teams. You can read more about Team Mode here.

Other game modes
Kahoot! game modes empower every aspect of dynamics between players, from lesson or meeting planning to delivery, through to assessment and reporting. Read more:

Before you choose the game mode, in the lobby when waiting for the players and in-between questions, you can go to a list of game options that can be accessed via the gear wheel icon on the bottom right corner of the host’s screen.

You can modify some of those settings during the game, in between questions. Your settings will be saved for next time. You can read more about settings here.

1. Log in to your account.
2. Click the Create button on the right side of the top navigation bar.
3. Select the Kahoot option from the drop-down menu to make a kahoot.
4. Once you’ve started making a kahoot, you can navigate between questions and add new ones via the left-hand sidebar. You can create new questions from scratch, copy them from other kahoots, import slides from a presentation, or import quiz questions from a spreadsheet.

Your kahoot creator shows different features depending on the current workspace.

How to add questions

1. When making a kahoot, click the Add question button on the left-side panel below the questions you already added.
2. Choose the question type.
3. Type in the question. The questions from the Test knowledge section require you to provide the answers and mark the correct response (if applicable for the question type you selected).

🖌️ If you forget about an element of a question or you exceeded the character limit, an exclamation mark will appear on the left-side panel once you leave the question.
🖌️ Features marked with a star are not included in your current plan. If you use them, you’ll be asked to upgrade to share, host, and assign your game. Read more about saving games.

How to move, duplicate, or delete questions

1. Click on a question on the left-side panel.
2. Drag a question vertically in the panel to place it above or below another question.
3. Click the duplication icon to duplicate a question.
4. Click the trash bin icon to delete a question.

Over 30 million public kahoots have been created by our team, partners, and community. Whether you teach 1st grade, college, or train new hires, you can likely find pre-made games that suit your needs.

To get started, log in to your Kahoot! account and type in the relevant phrase in the search bar at the top of the screen or go to the Discover page via the left-side panel.

How to search:

You can use the search bar near the top of the page. Type a keyword for a list of matching kahoots. Or to see a list of kahoots someone’s made, type in their username.

Child account holders can search only the free pre-selected kahoots that we’ve vetted as both appropriate and awesome. The filters are not available.

• You can only see public kahoots. Private kahoots must be shared with you and will be found under Shared with you on your Library page.
• Keyword and username terms are not case-sensitive.

Filters – You can filter results by type of free and premium offer, common subjects, as well as grade level, creator’s role, and language. Additionally, you can choose if you want to display individual kahoots, channels, or courses.

Sort by – Three sorting options let you prioritize what is shown at the top:

• Most Relevant – what we think is an ideal mix of factors including popularity and quality.
• Most Played – those with the most plays.
• Highest Quality – this considers many factors (for example, average playtime and how many times each kahoot was favorited).

💡 TIP 💡

The operator * searches an unlimited number of characters in place of the ” * ” symbol (Ex: *ath will find “math” as well as “telepath” and “wreath”).

How to find paid and free content

Kahoot!’s Discover page offers both free and paid content. Among paid content, we distinguish Kahoot! Marketplace and Kahoot!+ AccessPass subscriptions.

You can filter the free content, Kahoot!+ AccessPass and Kahoot! Marketplace content through the panel on the left side of the results page.

When navigating our Discover page and browsing through your search results, pay attention to the labels placed at the bottom of the covers of kahoots and courses.

• If the label says Free, the content is free.
• If the label says K!+ AccessPass, the content is available for Kahoot!+ AccessPass subscribers.
• If the label says Purchase, the content can be purchased on our marketplace and you’ll see the price after clicking on it.
