Kahoot! expands in Australia and New Zealand to support the transformation of digital learning

The global learning and engagement platform is empowering schools and workplaces with interactive tools to enhance classroom engagement and upskilling.

April 15, 2025: Kahoot!, the global learning and engagement platform, is announcing its expansion in Australia and New Zealand as schools, universities, and workplaces in the ANZ region increasingly embrace digital learning. To meet growing demand, Kahoot! has now established its first office in Melbourne, Australia. This will enable better support for educators, businesses, and organizations looking to drive engagement and knowledge retention in today’s evolving learning landscape.

Matthew Willmott, Vice President for Kahoot! in Australia and New Zealand, leads the expansion:

“Classrooms are evolving, and interactive learning has become a key element in sparking student engagement and improving learning outcomes,” said Matt Willmott. “With the Australian federal government’s renewed commitment to securing equity in public schools through increased funding, we see a great opportunity to support both students and educators. This at a time when teacher shortages are putting pressure on schools, AI-powered learning tools like Kahoot! help put precious hours back into a teacher’s week—enhancing student enjoyment while reducing educator stress and burnout.”

With this local expansion, Kahoot! is also committed to helping even more ANZ companies unlock the full potential of their workforce through impactful onboarding and upskilling and interactive meetings.

“Many companies are facing low employee engagement and widening skill gaps, requiring new strategies to upskill teams effectively. Kahoot! is uniquely positioned to support both educators and businesses in delivering interactive, impactful learning experiences that drive real results,” Wilmott adds.

With over 11 billion (non-unique) participants since launch, and more than 25 million active users on the platform, Kahoot! is a global leader in interactive learning and engagement. In ANZ, over 300,000 teachers trust the platform to create and deliver engaging learning experiences with research-backed evidence to improve student learning—with a total of over 45 million (non-unique) participants during the last 12 months.
