At Kahoot!, we’re committed to empowering learners of all ages to build future-ready skills by harnessing the power of playful learning. Today, I’m happy to announce that we’re taking it to the next level by sponsoring Team “Art In Smart,” a group of students from Asker International School in Norway, to compete in the FIRST® LEGO® League Asia Pacific Open Championships in Sydney, Australia!
Building STEM skills on the road to the championships
FIRST® LEGO® League (FLL) is part of a joint educational initiative by the LEGO Group and FIRST, an organization fostering students’ STEM skills through robotics challenges. This program has inspired hundreds of thousands of students globally to build important skills, innovate solutions to challenges, and explore careers in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) through exciting competitions. Since FIRST is also a Kahoot! premium partner, you can get in on the fun by playing the kahoots on the official FIRST profile on Kahoot!.
Team Art In Smart—the only team representing Kahoot!’s home country of Norway this year—has had an incredible journey so far. As a group of seven students between 13 and 14 years old, they are first-time participants in FIRST® LEGO® League Challenge, and their achievements have been nothing short of inspiring. In addition to winning top accolades at the Oslo Regional Championship and Scandinavian Finale, the team was also shortlisted at the 2024 Scandinavian Innovation Awards to present their innovation project: a language learning solution to motivate teenagers like them to learn new languages.
Now, Team Art In Smart is competing against 66 teams from around the world at the Asia Pacific Open Championships, taking place this week in Sydney. Students participating are putting their STEM skills to the test through their innovation project and a LEGO Robotics challenge. Through this experience, the team is learning valuable skills about the design process, app development, programming, as well as problem solving, teamwork, and more!
Inspiring the next generation of innovators
At Kahoot!, we believe that a key step to building a brighter future for all is sparking young learners’ curiosity about the world around them. We seek to do this every day through engaging learning experiences on Kahoot!, and now we’re proud to support this team of students in taking their creative ideas and passion for STEM all the way to the championships!
We’re wishing Team Art In Smart the best of luck, and a great event to all. Here’s to awesome learning in action!
