Language matters: Learn how to address members of the LGBTQIA+ community 

LGBTQIA+ community or Queer community is an umbrella term for those whose sexual orientation is not heterosexual and those who do not identify as cisgender. How much do you know about the discriminatory practices and policies our LGBTQIA+ community have faced? It’s important to always acknowledge the monumental victories so we remember our cause for celebration. Become an advocate and ally!

Now that we’ve learned the correct terms and history, what should we do with that information? Members of the LGBTQIA+ community include Black, Latinx, Native or Asian, and they may also be disabled or come from lower income areas.
