Add dynamics to training content with different game types

What’s the difference between an “anonymous player” and an “identified player”?

An “anonymous player” is someone who joins a kahoot game by entering their nickname and plays as usual. An “identified player” is a player who is tracked by a host with our player identifier feature. Their performance and progress over time can be tracked by entering their email address or other parameter in games where our player identifier feature is toggled on.

The host can then view and download reports which show the performance of identified learners, or combine reports to track progress over multiple games or training sessions.

What is “player identifier”?

Player identifier is a feature that allows you to identify players from game to game. Players are asked to enter their email address (or a custom identifier of your choosing) when they join your game. This identifier shows in reports and allows you to use our “combined report” feature.

If players use our Android or iOS mobile app to join, their identifier is saved after the first time they enter it so they won’t have to enter it again when joining your games in the future.

What is a “combined report”?

Combined reports collate identified learner data from many reports into one. Use them to quickly compile a multi-game “tournament” leaderboard and podium. You can only combine reports from games that had “player identifier” on, as player identifiers are necessary to collate data.

What is “personalized learning”?

Personalized learning uses proven learning methods such as spacing and testing to help learners retain information and master content. After a live game, our Android or iOS mobile app will encourage players to repeat questions they got wrong. The app will space these repeats out over the course of seven days. Each time, questions they answer incorrectly are asked again until they answer correctly. As the host, you can see from your game’s advanced report leaderboard each player’s progress through personalized learning.
