Our executive leadership team includes leaders with responsibilities across Kahoot! Group as well as those focused specifically on Kahoot!. Together, they drive strategy, operations, and innovation across our global business.

Eilert Giertsen Hanoa

Chief Executive Officer

As CEO, Eilert Giertsen Hanoa leads Kahoot!’s vision of building the leading learning platform in the world. After becoming the first investor in Kahoot! in 2014, Eilert served as Chairman of the Board until he was appointed as Chief Executive Officer in 2019. Eilert previously founded and served as the CEO of the Business Software Solution company Mamut (acquired by Visma) and then Director of ERP software for Small and Midsize Business (SMB) at Visma. He is also a board member and investor in several tech companies and start-ups.

Åsmund Furuseth

Chief Product Officer, Co-Founder

As CPO, Åsmund leads Kahoot!’s product strategy, vision, and execution, ensuring the delivery of world-class digital experiences. He co-founded Kahoot! in 2013 and has since served as the company’s first CEO and later as VP of Business Development before taking on his current role. Earlier, Åsmund co-founded and led ChapDrive, a wind turbine technology company, and he also serves on the boards of several startups.

Jostein Håvaldsrud

Chief Technology Officer

Jostein Håvaldsrud leads the Kahoot! Group’s technology strategy across all units and teams. He joined Kahoot! from Visma, where he oversaw engineering and product management for a large portfolio of products across Europe. Jostein has also served as CTO of the Norwegian software company Mamut.

Sean D’Arcy

Chief Solutions Officer

Sean D’Arcy leads the development and growth of Kahoot!’s concepts across all user segments. His focus is on ensuring Kahoot!’s solutions evolve with customer needs and continue to deliver exceptional value. Prior to this role, Sean served as Kahoot!’s SVP of Marketing and VP, Business Area Lead for School and Home.

Elizabeth Kleive

Chief Experience Officer

Elizabeth Kleive drives commercial growth at Kahoot! through customer experience innovation, ensuring engaging user journeys while supporting brand awareness, onboarding, and customer expansion. Before becoming CXO, she served as Program Director and later VP of Customer Experience at Kahoot!. Prior to joining Kahoot!, Elizabeth led customer experience and marketing initiatives in the Commercial Unit at technology company Visma.

Jesper Hyrm

Group Chief Revenue Officer

Jesper Hyrm leads Kahoot! Group Commercial Strategy and Organisation, with a focus on expanding Kahoot!’s presence in the professional market globally. Before joining the Kahoot! Group, Jesper served as Vice President International of GitHub, one of the most widely-used software developer platforms globally. He previously held senior leadership positions at Riverbed Technology and Dell Technologies, where he led and scaled high-performing enterprise sales organizations across EMEA and the Americas.

Roberto Leao

Group Chief Financial Officer

Roberto Leao leads the Kahoot! Group Finance Organization, with responsibility for financial strategy and operations, ensuring a solid foundation for continued growth and investment. He previously served as Vice President of Finance at Chegg and has held senior roles at Intuit, Walmart, and Huawei, with responsibility for financial and commercial strategy, accounting, finance transformation, and cross-border operations.

Ingvild Næss

Chief Information Officer

Ingvild Næss leads operations, scaling, and organizational effectiveness across Kahoot! Group. Prior to joining Kahoot!, she was Chief Privacy & Data Trends Officer and Chief Information Officer at Schibsted, one of Scandinavia’s largest media companies, where she played a key role in shaping data and privacy strategies and driving IT and organizational transformation. She began her career as a business lawyer at Thommessen and now serves on the boards of several technology companies.

Julie Wessel

VP Corporate Development

Julie Wessel leads Kahoot!’s mergers and acquisitions, from identification through integration, while also driving organizational development and strategic initiatives. She first joined Kahoot! as Director of Business Development, after working as a project manager at McKinsey & Company, the global management consulting firm.

Carl Gustaf Lenngren

Strategic Advisor

Carl Gustaf Lenngren serves as Strategic Advisor to Kahoot! Group. His work spans corporate finance, M&A and strategic financial projects. Before joining Kahoot!, Carl Gustaf worked in investment banking at Goldman Sachs and ABG Sundal Collier, and as an investment professional at Datum Group.

Ranjit Mahida

General Counsel and Corporate Secretary

Ranjit Mahida oversees legal, risk, and compliance across the Kahoot! Group. He has held senior legal roles at publicly traded technology companies and international law firms in San Francisco, New York, and Oslo, advising on commercial agreements, intellectual property, data protection and privacy, M&A, litigation, regulatory compliance, marketing, and employment law.

Gavin Patterson

Chair of the Board

Gavin Patterson chairs the Board of Directors at Kahoot!. Gavin previously served as President of Salesforce and CEO of BT Group. He has held board positions across FTSE, NASDAQ, AIM-listed, and private equity-backed companies, as well as with charities and educational institutions. His experience spans industries including airlines, business services, consumer products, software, technology, telecommunications, and the third sector.

Joe Belfiore

Vice Chair of the Board

Joe Belfiore has held several senior leadership roles at Microsoft, most recently as Corporate Vice President and Head of the Office Product Group. Throughout his tenure, he led product development across Windows, Edge, Xbox, Windows Phone, and Microsoft Office. His contributions include shaping key innovations such as the Windows Start button and taskbar, the award-winning Windows Phone “Metro” interface, transitioning the Edge browser to the Chromium open-source platform, and defining the “Copilot” AI experience across Microsoft applications.

Stacey Childress

Stacey Childress is a Senior Advisor at McKinsey & Company. Stacey has mobilized over $1 billion in investments and philanthropy to education ventures through her previous roles as founding CEO of the Advanced Education Research and Development Fund, CEO of NewSchools Venture Fund, and head of next generation learning at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Earlier in her career, Stacey was an award-winning faculty member at Harvard Business School. In 2021, Forbes named her to their 50 over 50 list of women leaders.

Ashley Andersen Zantop

Ashley Andersen Zantop is Chairman and CEO at educational technology company Cambium Learning Group. She has previously held C-suite roles leading startups, joint ventures, and mature organizations in public, private, and nonprofit sectors around the world. Ashley is the recipient of the CODiE Award for Most Influential Thought Leader in EdTech, the ASU+GSV Power of Women Award and has been named a Caliber One Top 25 Women in US PE-backed Software.

Stine Halla

Stine Halla is the Chief Financial Officer at Schibsted, leading finance, strategy, legal and M&A. Since joining Schibsted, she has held several positions within finance in the company, including SVP Finance for Nordic Marketplaces. Stine started her career in PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Michael Bruun

Michael Bruun is global co-head of Private Equity within Goldman Sachs Asset Management. He is a member of the Asset Management Corporate Investment Committee, Asset Management Growth Equity Investment Committee, Sustainable Investing Group Investment Committee and Asset & Wealth Management Diversity and Inclusion Council. Since joining the company as an analyst, Michael has held several leading positions in Goldman Sachs, including head of EMEA Private Equity within Goldman Sachs Asset Management.

Nana Bule

Nana Bule is an Operating Advisor with Goldman Sachs Asset Management, working across technology and sustainability investment and value creation. During her former tenure at Microsoft, she held various leadership roles in both the Consumer and Enterprise business, including the role as CEO of Microsoft Denmark & Iceland. She serves on a number of boards as an independent director and chair and holds positions of trust for the Danish Government, including Chair of the National Digital Council.

Andreas Hansson

Andreas Hansson is a board professional and investor with extensive operational and investment experience. He is currently on the board of AutoStore, and previously served as the Chairman at Kahoot!. He was a Managing Director at Softbank, leading their investments in deep tech companies, and the former Technical Advisor to the Chief Technology Officer of Arm. Andreas holds a PhD in electrical engineering from Eindhoven University of Technology, the Netherlands.

Chris Caulkin

Chris Caulkin is a Managing Director and Head of Technology for EMEA focusing on General Atlantic’s investments in the Technology sector. Throughout his tenure at General Atlantic, Chris has led investments in founder-backed businesses in the ed-tech, health tech, food delivery, data, marketplaces and software industries. Prior to joining General Atlantic, Chris was an Analyst and Associate at global private equity firm Warburg Pincus. He was previously an Associate at The Boston Consulting Group.

Charlotte Kristiansen

Employee Representative

Charlotte is a Senior Customer Success Manager at Kahoot!, driving the onboarding and adoption process for businesses and higher education customers. Charlotte joined Kahoot! as the first Customer Success Manager for EMEA/APAC. Previously, Charlotte served in customer-focused roles at Microsoft and LinkedIn.

Alexander Remen

Employee Representative

Alexander is VP Product at Kahoot!, leading the development of the Kahoot! mobile apps and their product teams. Before joining Kahoot!, Alexander worked at Opera Software, both as a developer and as a technical project manager on mobile apps.
