Battle of the Books begins

Library puts teens’ book trivia knowledge to the test with Kahoot!

Alachua County teens looking to read this summer can participate in the library district’s annual Battle of the Books and get free copies of the books.

A Friends of the Library donation made the book giveaway possible. The titles include “Long Way Down” by Jason Reynolds and “A Boy and his Dog at the End of the World” by Charlie Fletcher.

The reading contest is usually a team competition but this year is an individual contest and is all online.

The Battle of the Books will be held Saturday, July 25 starting at 1 p.m. as a multiple-choice and true/false quiz on the two books using Kahoot! Teens can join the competition in their web browser or on the Kahoot! mobile app.
