Kahoot! teams up with Tinkercast to spark curiosity and engagement in children’s science podcast

Test your knowledge of amazing science facts by playing games from Tinkercast’s Two Whats?! and a Wow! podcast on Kahoot!

With many schools, libraries and museums across the globe still closed due to COVID-19, inspiring young learners’ curiosity and creativity has been more challenging than ever. However, just because kids are learning from home doesn’t mean they can’t discover amazing facts about the world around them!

To help bring science learning to life for children everywhere, Kahoot! Academy is partnering with Tinkercast to engage young learners like never before in their interactive game show podcast Two Whats?! and a Wow!

“We believe in meeting kids where they are, theoretically and physically, and our own kids are most engaged in their remote learning classes when they are on Kahoot!,” said Tinkercast’s CEO Meredith Halpern-Ranzer. “That’s why we are thrilled to bring our unique gameplay experience from sound to screen with this partnership.”

From the creators of the Wow in the World podcast, Two Whats?! and a Wow! is a weekly podcast hosted by Mindy Thomas and Guy Raz and distributed by NPR. It was created in response to school closures caused by COVID-19, with a mission to foster creativity, active learning and a sense of wonder for children anywhere.

Engaging children in science learning at home

As many children stay home and continue with virtual learning either part-time or full-time, it’s more important than ever to provide students with ways to actively engage and participate in their learning. With this partnership, young learners can experience the Two Whats?! and a Wow! games on Kahoot!

The show has explored a variety of educational topics from food to animals to the science of the human body. In a twist on the game “Two Truths and a Lie,” Two Whats?! and a Wow! challenges listeners to tell science fiction from science fact, always introducing a “wow” fact to amaze and delight learners of all ages. Now, kids can play each game as a kahoot, adding more interactivity, engagement and fun to their home learning routine, as well as helping students to reinforce what they’ve learned.

“As parents ourselves, we are only starting to understand the challenges kids, teachers and caregivers face in these incredibly difficult times,” said co-creator and co-host Guy Raz. “Through this partnership, we are inviting our many listeners to take a break from passive screen time and to tap into their curiosity.”

“We’re thrilled to partner with the Tinkercast team to bring thought-provoking science facts and meaningful learning opportunities to kids and their educators—whether they’re in the classroom or at home,” said Craig Narveson, Director of Partnerships, Kahoot!. “Through this collaboration, we hope to empower kids to follow their curiosity, explore the world around them and discover how exciting learning can be.”
