Make your julbord even more awesome this year with Kahoot! available now in Swedish

The holiday season is just around the corner in the northern hemisphere and in Sweden, families and friends are already organizing their traditional “julbord”, which translates as “Christmas dinner.” In this traditional celebration, Swedes gather at home, restaurants or other settings in groups to eat and drink together with their loved ones. The julbord tradition is also common among companies and organizations who organize these traditional Christmas dinners bringing together all their employees.

To make this year’s julbord even more awesome, we have added full Swedish language support to the Kahoot! web platform and app for Android and iOS. Now, every Swede hosting a julbord with family and friends or with colleagues at work, can be star of the evening by creating a magical experience where everyone can participate while having fun and learning something new.

As a julbord starter, Swedish speaking users can play this tailored kahoot about all things Sweden is famous for.

Dancing Queen? Mamma Mia? Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! What do these have in common? Of course! Users can make their julbord even more fun by testing their knowledge about ABBA  with this kahoot.

Users can choose which kahoots to play from our vast collection of millions of ready-to-play games on the platform.

Change the language selection into Swedish following the next steps:

On the Kahoot! web platform

  • Navigate to Settings under the profile icon and Change Language.
  • Select Swedish from the dropdown menu.

In the Kahoot! app

  • Update the app to the latest version, or download it on your iOS or Android device if you haven’t installed it before*.
  • The app will switch automatically if your device language is set to Swedish.
  • If your device language is different, tap the profile icon within the app.
  • From your profile page, tap the cog icon to open settings.
  • Select Swedish from the Language dropdown.

* If you’re a teacher, you might need to reach out to your school’s technology administrator and ask to update the app version on students’ devices.

We are very excited to bring the Kahoot! experience to Swedish speakers everywhere, and we look forward to families and friends using Kahoot! in Swedish for all their social events, including birthday parties, weddings, anniversaries, and many more!
