To earn this certification, Kahoot!’s policies and practices—including our Privacy Policy, Security Practices, Accessibility Policy, and others—were vetted according to the 1EdTech Data Privacy Rubric. This validation involved a rigorous review of Kahoot!’s practices regarding data collection, security, third-party data, and advertising.
At Kahoot!, we’re committed to upholding high standards of data privacy for all users, with particular attention to the importance of protecting the privacy of children and students. Kahoot! operates in accordance with applicable privacy laws, including the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), the California Student Online Personal Information Protection Act (SOPIPA), and other U.S. state laws governing education privacy. We also enable learners to participate in a kahoot session with nothing more than a nickname—which can be randomly generated—making it easy to play and learn on Kahoot! without any personal identifiable information being collected.
Kahoot! has also signed on to the Student Privacy Pledge, a commitment to safeguarding student privacy by regulating how students’ personal information is collected and maintained.
