As we reflect on the memories and milestones accomplished in 2024, we’re so grateful to have partnered with educators, creators, and Kahoot! Teachers of Awesome to bring powerful learning experiences to classrooms around the world.
Every classroom tells a unique story—shaped by the grade level, subject matter, and even the vibrant themes displayed on its walls. But no matter where you look, one constant remains: passionate teachers who work tirelessly to ignite curiosity, foster inclusivity, and encourage playful exploration in their students. What’s a tool that helps bring these goals to life? Educators around the world agree—Kahoot! fits the bill perfectly!
This year, we’ve witnessed incredible moments as teachers, equipped with their expertise and Kahoot! tools, turned learning into an engaging and impactful adventure. From the earliest weeks of the school year to the culmination of entire semesters, these educators have redefined what it means to make learning awesome. Join us as we revisit some of the standout memories and milestones that made this year truly remarkable.
The Kahoot! Cup takes classes and communities by storm
Kahoot! Ambassador, Steve Auslander, has helped to make the Kahoot! Cup a recognized classroom and household name across the entire Kahoot!’ing community. What’s even more awesome? Teachers and educators around the world have been inspired by the community and connection facilitated during this live event, encouraging them to organize their own, spin-off experiences. Pedro Civera of Alicante, Spain hosted a “12/12/12” trivia event – a live Kahoot!’ing event held on December 12, presented at 12:00pm, sharing 12 pop-culture and trivia-based questions.
Separately, Ambassador Hana Segawa curated another global Kahoot!’ing tournament, connecting teachers, students, and families across transatlantic continents! In a series of live Kahoot! tournaments, Hana presented English learning curricula to young language learners in Japan – all from her own home in Oklahoma, USA.
Kahoot! Ambassador David A. Peña has activated the LATAM Kahoot! community through many events, initiatives, and outreach programs over the past few years. At the inaugural NUMET conference in 2023, David helped to present, share, and promote Kahoot! at a first-of-its-kind expo hall and tabling presentation. Back for a second go-around, David joined the NUMET team again with an official Kahoot! presence! Nearly two thousand educators and participants joined David’s session, partaking in interactive demos, live Kahoot! games, and of course – walking away with awesome swag and learning resources.
Online learning and connection stretches from Oslo to APAC with ambassadors in the Philippines
Digital learning tools are helpful, dynamic, and accessible – no matter your location…except when those learning tools aren’t localized to regional languages, dialects, and schedules. Thanks to Kahoot! Ambassador, May Versoza of Immaculate Conception Academy in Manila, educators across the Philippines now have localized, translated, and accessible learning experiences to experience Kahoot!+ tools first-hand, with 1:1 technology support and troubleshooting help! This year, May helped to organize a series of online learning webinars in partnership with Kaagapay Teacher Support.
ISTE2024 reached new heights of awesome in the Mile High City
Thousands of teachers gathered at the Kahoot! booth to check out all the latest features and learn how they can make this the ultimate back-to-school season. With the help of Kahoot! Ambassadors, the K!rew hosted non-stop learning and PD sessions, live Kahoot! games and experiences, and hands-on demos to showcase all-new AI-assisted creator tools.
Events like ISTE are where we get to meet and collaborate with teachers to understand how they are using Kahoot! in their classrooms and how we can better support them. This year, we’re proud to say that it has come full circle with our teacher ambassadors hosting their own sessions at our booth and educating their fellow teachers on new and unique ways to engage their class and get their students excited about learning. In these Teacher Takeover sessions, our ambassadors shared their tips for getting the most out of Kahoot!, including hosting hacks, interactive presentations, student-created kahoots, and how to do more with game modes, AI-powered notes scanner, and even the PDF import tool.
Ambassadors travel across coasts, oceans, and hemispheres to make learning awesome
Kahoot! Ambassador and retired classroom teacher, Glenn Cake, has upheld a longstanding tradition of connection, collaboration, and community of language learning via Kahoot! tools. Often online, Glenn hosts “Family Learning Nights” – providing parents, from around the entire country of Canada, with a French-English language immersion experience. Many of these parents are supporting students of dual-language learning, but are monolingual themselves. Glenn’s regular virtual learning programs help parents and their children build connections via the language curriculum embedded in a students’ day-to-day schedule at school! No longer are students learning new language (albeit French or English) in their own classrooms without opportunity to practice and explore beyond the school curricula. Now, parents are learning conversational language to support students in conversation, academic projects, and evaluative goals.
Glenn has taken this learning experience offline too, with travel across the Atlantic Ocean and all the way to Brazil. As a visiting guest teacher and facilitator, Glenn shares interactive approaches toward language learning – coaching teachers, and supporting the students themselves. Each October, Glenn travels to Maple Bear Atibaia, and relies on Kahoot! Tools to build connection and community, instill senses of engagement and autonomy, and review and reflect on goals from the program curriculum!
