Earlier this year, I was honored to be invited to sit in the jury of Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe 2024. For the ninth year, Forbes is highlighting the young leaders and innovators who are striving for social and environmental change across Europe and the globe, and this week the list of the honorees was unveiled.
As a jury member in the Social Impact category, I was presented with a long list of candidates, every single one with impressive ideas and businesses – some already achieving success, others still in their early stages, but still with great potential to transform education, business and beyond. It was truly inspiring to see so many young leaders using their creativity and can-do attitude to make a positive difference in the world.
One of the featured honorees in the category Arnaud Delubac, is the founder of Greenly, a Paris-based startup whose software helps clients like LVMH, L’Oreal, and TripAdvisor track and document their carbon footprint, and links them with their in-house climate consultants to help them reduce their environmental impact. Greenly already has some 2,000 clients, and revenue is on pace to double to $20 million in 2024. Impressive!
Growing value for users and business with scalable technology
Arnaud and his colleagues are helping their customers – and society – by solving a pressing issue with technology.
When I came in as the first external investor in Kahoot! close to ten years ago, it was the viral growth and highly scalable technology and business model that impressed me the most. Since then, I’ve seen how this approach can lead to a more financially sustainable business, while also creating better user experiences. Building technology for scalability enables it to stay agile and grow to meet the ever-evolving needs of millions of users worldwide. I was pleased to find many of these young leaders founding new technologies and businesses with this strategy, and I look forward to seeing how they and their exciting social impact ventures progress in the years to come.
