Since Kahoot! launched over ten years ago, we have been driven by our mission to make learning awesome, across all ages, settings, languages, and abilities. We are passionate about empowering all learners to unleash their learning potential, and we’re proud to have hosted over 10 billion non-unique participants from all walks of life on the Kahoot! platform. This is why I’m excited to announce that Kahoot! has received Gold certification for Equity by the International Certification of Evidence of Impact in Education (ICEIE)!
The gold standard for equity in education technology
The ICEIE assesses and validates “what works” in EdTech worldwide, based on independent research and evidence. Their evaluation reviews EdTech solutions’ impact in five areas (Efficacy, Effectiveness, Ethics, Equity, and Environment). Earlier this year, the ICEIE granted Kahoot! the Silver badge in Effectiveness and the Gold badge in Efficacy, showcasing Kahoot! as an evidence-based solution that elevates learning outcomes. Now, we add the Gold badge in Equity to our awards and recognitions, confirming Kahoot!’s success in fostering equity by design.
With criteria involving inclusive design, adaptivity and bias mitigation, and equitable implementation, the Equity Gold badge affirms our efforts to make Kahoot! more responsive to the needs of learners of any background, context, or stage of life. Over the years, we have made Kahoot! more relevant and accessible for millions globally by localizing in 19 languages, as well as launching a variety of features and experiences to foster more accessible and inclusive learning. For example, with our Sparks tool, created through an inclusive design approach, you can celebrate different ways of thinking and expression, including those of neurodivergent learners. You can also amplify inclusivity with new features like Kahootopia, designed to bring learners of different learning styles and abilities together around a shared goal.
Elevating learning with user-centric innovation
At Kahoot!, a key part of our approach to equity is listening. We listen carefully to our users’ feedback and continuously develop our offerings to better meet their needs. Our community page invites users to share, comment on, and even vote for product ideas. As we reported last year, we had fulfilled nearly 70% of all feature requests by customers in less than three years. We also work closely with our more than 1,000 Kahoot! Ambassadors from across all continents and representing different learning and classroom cultures. Through their beta-testing and collaboration with the Kahoot! team, they help us ensure our products deliver engaging and meaningful learning experiences for all!
